Abstract:
This case describes how Cummins Engine Corporation implemented a successful long-term strategy to restore its dominant position in the world diesel engine market. The management had to respond to a decline in the market share caused by increased global competition and domestic regulation. The key management issue focus is successful strategic decision making followed by effective implementation.
