Abstract:

On October 24, 2005, Lee Scott, CEO of Wal-Mart, delivered a groundbreaking and, some would argue, long overdue speech committing the world's largest corporation to become a significant positive force for social and environmental stewardship. Scott suggested numerous initiatives that Wal-Mart will undertake in the coming years that will make the company more energy efficient, less wasteful, more profitable, and environmentally friendly.
