Abstract:
This empirical study examines how 105 business schools included courses on corporate involvement in community development in their curriculae. The findings show four principal homes for CI/CED: enterpreneurship, service learning, business and society/business ethics, and strategy/policy. The authors offer possibilities for integrating citizenship across the curriculum through three views of CSR: as charity, enlightened self-interest, and a transforming relationship with economic and social systems.
