Abstract:
This article looks at the differing definitions of ambition held by men and women, and ways in which gender differences in the interpretation of ‘ambition' affects womens' expectations, performance and self- evaluation as a professional. There is also some analysis of the workplace structures, organized to “accommodate the life cycles of men”.
