Abstract:

Manville Corporation used bankruptcy law to manage thousands of lawsuits resulting from its decades as the world's largest producer of asbestos. As the firm prepares to emerge from bankruptcy in the form of two new corporations whose assets would be shielded from legal claims, Manville's young, charismatic CEO prepares to set forth its final policy toward asbestos health victims.
