Abstract:

As part of the REi (Resource Endowment Initiative), ICMM has developed an Analytical Framework looking at the macroeconomic and governance influences on the socioeconomic performance of mining companies. The Resource Endowment toolkit is also publicly available, based on the Analytical Framework. It has been tested in four developing countries and refined by multi-stakeholder processes at global and national levels. The toolkit can be used by researchers to assess mining’s local and national socio-economic contribution.
